What types of permits can I track?
You can track any business license, permit, or certification that has an expiration date. This includes business licenses, health permits, fire inspection certificates, food handler certifications, water discharge permits, signage permits, building occupancy permits, and more. If it expires, PermitAware tracks it.
Does PermitAware also track trademarks and domain names?
Yes. The Brand Protection section of your dashboard tracks federal trademarks, state trademarks, and domain names. For federal trademarks we automatically calculate your Section 8 maintenance filing deadline (year 6) and Section 9 renewal deadline (year 10) from your USPTO registration date and send reminders at 12 months, 6 months, and 30 days before each. State trademarks and domain names get reminders at 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration.
Does PermitAware work in all 50 states?
Yes. PermitAware works for any business in any state. You enter your permit details and expiration dates, and we handle the reminders regardless of where your business is located.
How far in advance will I be notified?
You will receive reminders at 90 days, 60 days, 30 days, and 7 days before any permit expires. This gives you plenty of time to gather paperwork, schedule inspections, and complete renewals without any last minute scrambling.
How do reminders get sent?
Starter plan customers receive email reminders. Growth and Pro plan customers receive both email and SMS reminders straight to their phone. You will never have to wonder if a reminder slipped through.
How long does setup take?
Most business owners are fully set up within 15 minutes. You create your account, enter your permits and expiration dates, and PermitAware takes it from there. No complicated setup, no learning curve.
Do I need to be tech savvy to use this?
Not at all. If you can send a text message, you can use PermitAware. The dashboard is simple and straightforward. Everything is clearly labeled and easy to navigate.
I own multiple locations. Can I manage them all from one account?
Yes. The Growth plan supports up to 3 locations and the Pro plan supports unlimited locations. You can manage all of your permits across every location from one single dashboard without logging in and out of different accounts.
What if I enter the wrong expiration date? Can I fix it?
Absolutely. You can edit, update, or delete any permit at any time directly from your dashboard. Changes take effect immediately and your reminder schedule will automatically adjust to the new date.
Is there a contract or long term commitment?
No contracts, no commitments, no fine print. PermitAware is month to month. You pay for what you use and you can cancel anytime with no penalties.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time directly from your account page. You will continue to have access through the end of your billing period and you will not be charged again after that.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can switch between Starter, Growth, and Pro at any time from your account page. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, one of the most trusted payment platforms in the world.
How is my business data protected?
Your data is encrypted and stored securely. We never sell your information to third parties. Only you have access to your permit details and business information. PermitAware uses industry standard security practices to keep your data safe.
What if something goes wrong? How do I contact support?
You can reach our support team anytime by emailing hello@permitaware.com. We respond to all inquiries within 24 hours, usually much faster. We are here to make sure PermitAware works perfectly for your business.
I am not tech savvy. Will someone help me get set up?
Yes. If you need help getting started just email us at hello@permitaware.com and we will personally walk you through the setup process. Most owners are up and running in under 15 minutes, and we are happy to help every step of the way.
